Los Angeles, CA — Updated Feb. 2010

Voted 2nd of Top 10 DJs in Los Angeles according to The DJ List — Jan. 2010.

For over a decade, Arthur has been setting dance floors on fire in cities both near and far away. To date, he has performed at venues such as the Hollywood Arena, Spundae and RED at Circus, the 2009 Miami Winter Music Conference, The Standard in LA, Leiden’s Liberation Festivities in Holland, and Empire Ballroom at the 2006 Las Vegas Music Conference. He has also been featured as Guest DJ on SIRIUS/XM nationwide satellite radio, Vancouver’s CJSF 90.1FM, Atlantic City’s WLFR 91.7FM, and internet stations such as ETN.FM, Orbital Grooves Radio, LiquidFM, PureDJ.com, Beat Freaks Radio, Global Dance Mission on iTunes, and countless others.

In 2009, Arthur joined Matt Darey’s Nocturnal team, where he conducted interviews with artists featured on the internationally syndicated Nocturnal radio show.

2010 marked the seventh year of Arthur’s radio show, “The Division of Hardcore Samples”, which aired every Thursday night from 10PM-12AM PST on KUCI 88.9 FM (kuci.org) in Orange County, CA. Some of his past accomplishments include live remote broadcasts through collaborations with Orange Vibe and Giant in a joint effort to further expose electronic dance music to Orange County. Through this, he worked alongside artists such as Armin van Buuren, Dubfire (of Deep Dish), Miss Nine, Matthew Dekay, Marco Bailey, and Paolo Mojo. In addition, his weekly radio show allowed him to feature and interview several renowned DJs—such as UK DJ and Producer Lange, production stars Jonathan “Jono” Grant and Tony McGuinness of Above & Beyond, trance vocalist and songwriter JES, and radio legend Swedish Egil of Groove Radio.

At the start of 2010—after nearly seven years of being on the air—Arthur moved on from KUCI 88.9FM to embrace emerging opportunities with greater focus.

He currently holds a monthly residency for internet dance music superstation, BPM.FM. Catch his show, “Medicine of the Mind”, airing every first Friday of the month from 1PM-2PM PST on BPM.FM and iTunes.

In addition to his dedication to the dance music community, Arthur also works extensively in commercial radio. He is currently assistant producer with Darren Rose and former MTV personality Kennedy on 98.7FM’s “Music in the Morning”. He has also produced the mid-day show with Marco on 98.7FM, including the “Rewind At Noon”, which features alternative rock tracks from the ’80s and ’90s. He also runs the mixing boards at two of LA and Orange County’s largest radio stations, KIIS 102.7FM and 98.7FM.

Arthur’s immense musical passions continue to drive him to explore scattered places in a constant search for fresh sounds and musical adventure. Ultimately, it’s the satisfaction of sharing oneself through music, and the response of a cheering crowd that makes all the efforts worthwhile.

PHILOSOPHY
The key to life is balance. It’s upon this belief that I center everything in my life around. From balancing time in relationships, to balancing life between work and leisure, family and friends, and having enough time to do the things you really enjoy. Fifty years ago, people believed that today, machines would be doing all of our work for us, while we spent our time enjoying our lives or relaxing at home, lounging on the sofa with a newspaper by the fireplace. Instead, we’ve created machines to take care of these tasks, but at the same time, we’ve created more and more work for ourselves—all in the name of productivity in a materially-rewarding society. Have we forgotten why we work so hard at doing what we do? Of course, it’s important to work and make a living in order to be able to afford certain things that would make our life more pleasurable. But it becomes very easy to accept routines and forget the real reason we have jobs and careers—to live.

As human beings, we all ultimately seek happiness: happiness through our careers, relationships, hobbies, and whatever we have chosen to fill what would otherwise be emptiness in our lives. My experiences have led me to believe that happiness is not a destination—a place to reach after certain goals have been achieved—because there will always be newer goals to keep us going. While it is very important to strive to reach your goals, it is also important to remember that happiness is a journey. If you aren’t feeling happy now, identify what it is that is keeping you from being happy and take action, because you are ultimately in control of your own destiny… and we all get just one shot at making our lives what we want it to be.
