Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano are an energetic Dutch twosome who match soulful vocals with deep and funky house and hints of South American percussion pervading tribal influences.  Axwell refers to them as the Dutch version of SHM and their tour diary is stacked with headlining appearances at festivals throughout the world. MTV tapped them for house DJ duties for their 2012 NYE live broadcast from Times Square and they are the current ‘Residents of the Month’ on SiriusXM. With his diverse four-track ‘The Bipolar EP‘  priming itself for release, Anjunabeats rising star Mat Zo is embarking on his biggest tour of North America yet – including dates at San Francisco’s Ruby Skye, Toronto’s Guvernment, Denver’s Beta and Chicago’s Sound Bar. The 10-date tour will come to an end at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Miami party on Bayfront Park, site of the Ultra Music Festival, on Thursday, March 22 alongside Above & Beyond, Arty, Boom Jinx and Jaytech [#GroupTherapyMiami].

With Skrillex, Axwell, Radio 1 and MTV Dance all supporting his recent anthem “Mozart” (with Arty), the fast rising Mat Zo returns with an eclectic four-track blast of his innovative talents – each track a distinct dancefloor juggernaut in its own right.

With recent eclectic sets at events like the Bugged Out! Weekender and his drum & bass material as MRZO and MRSA for Hospital Records supported by the likes of Camo & Crooked, Zo is fast asserting himself as unique electronic talent; something ‘The Bipolar EP’ reinforces further by blending influences as varied as Daft Punk, Diplo, Deadmau5 and even classic US house and twisting them into bold big room sounds.

Surging the raw funk of Daft Punk at their punkiest against the deeply musical strains that Zo is renowned for, the lead track “Bipolar” lives up to its name by flitting between clicky grooves, electro synth stabs and subtle melodic waves in devastating dancefloor fashion.

A homage to Mat’s love of classic dance across the 90s and early noughties, “It’s Yours” is as inventive take on Jon Cutler & E-Man’s funky house classic “It’s Yours”. Already a big room anthem from Mat’s recent sets at Bugged Out! Weekender and TATW400 in Beirut, “It’s Yours” builds waves of infectious melodic funk into a climatic drop.

A bridge between the carnival sounds of acts like Diplo and Major Lazer and the stadium filling trance world, “Ring On It” is an experimental bleep and bass-heavy explosion of carnival vibes – built around a subtle but undeniably epic riff.

Named after the world famous cellist, closing track “Yoyo Ma” is a driving melodic tech odyssey that draws influences from Eric Prydz’s most epic Pryda work, big room techno and the classier end of trance.

Celebrating the ‘The Bipolar EP,’ Mat has also released an hour long mix of progressive grooves, quirky mash-ups and the innovative tracks from EP itself.

COMMUNITY: Chris Lake New Single “Build Up” + Upcoming Tour Dates

Chris Lake New Single “Build Up”
From His Highly Anticipated New Album
Upcoming Tour Dates
Chris Lake – Build Up (Ultra Records) OFFICIAL TEASER

Chris Lake Photo

Following the success of his debut single for Ultra Music, Chris Lake returns with “Build Up,” the follow-up to “Sundown” and the second single to be taken from his forthcoming album for the label.

“Build Up” epitomizes exactly why Chris Lake has been garnering so much attention of late with his huge house sound. Opening on a clipped rhythm and taut arpeggios, the distorted synth swathes open up the track as it breaks down letting the gorgeous vocal from GiTA float through the mix. Continuing to build layers of percussion and color, the lead synths burst through the track as the drum line kicks back in and the sidechained bass swells through the low end, giving it a powerful and expansive energy that is guaranteed to cause an impact on the dance floor.

Tommy Trash joins in the action with his edit. Keeping true to the vibe of the original, he pares back the synth lines allowing the streamlined rhythm and gritty bass tones to strike through the mix. Eventually he unleashes those synths in a flurry of colour and re-ignited vigour, kicking things up a gear to play out the track.

Pete Tong, a lasting champion of Lake’s music, aired the track on his Radio 1 show on Friday, and the track has been getting support from Tiesto, David Guetta, Avicii, Andi Durrant, Norman Doray & Arno Cost to name a few.

In the US, Chris has two Billboard Dance Airplay #1′s under his belt, and “Build Up” shows already signs of being the third.

COMMUNITY: Anjunadeep 04 Mixed by Jaytech & James Grant (Release Date: February 27)

Anjunadeep 04 Mixed by Jaytech & James Grant (Release Date: February 27)

With the past two editions both hitting #1 in the iTunes Dance Albums Chart, Anjunadeep 04 mixed by Jaytech and James Grant arrives with the label in better health than ever before – as evidenced by a recent DJ Mag nomination for ‘Best British Record Label’.

The last 12 months has seen the Above & Beyond imprint unveil one of house music’s hottest new talents in Dusky, whose album ‘Stick By This’ has been acclaimed by everyone from DJ Mag (“an intoxicating album full of life and flashes of brilliance ****”) to Pete Tong – with Tong naming it as one of his favourite albums of the year – while other Anjunadeep artists such as Matt Lange and Andrew Bayer on the label have blossomed, the former being described by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe as “the new Deadmau5″ and the latter’s ‘It’s Artificial’ LP winning plaudits from Lowe again and even day Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw.

Showcasing tracks and remixes from acts like Dusky, Tom Middleton, Maceo Plex, Vincenzo, Solarity and Andrew Bayer, ‘Anjunadeep04′ mixed by Jaytech & James Grant is the latest showcase of the label’s evolution; a 28 track journey through deep house, immersive melodic grooves and modern progressive.

Representing the deeper, more house-influenced end of Anjunadeep’s increasingly wide spectrum, label A&R James Grant effortlessly combines warm Maceo Plex’esque electronics, classic deep house vibes (Dusky “Lost Highway”), low-bass grooves (Tom Middleton’s Liquatech Mix of Paronator “No Gravity”) and the melodic house sound in which Anjunadeep has made its name.

Grant also contributes three remixes to the mix in collaboration with Andrew Bayer and acknowledges the key role played by Bayer in achieving the desired sound for CD1: “We had a clear vision for where we wanted the mix to head and Andrew really helped me realise that in this mix,” says Grant.

Taking time out from finishing his highly anticipated second artist album, AustralianAnjunadeep star Jaytech picks up the baton and pursues the more upbeat side of the label’s sound. From the future disco synths of Suspect 44’s “Neon Feel” to the melodic big room tech of Soundprank’s “Boundless Energy”, the Australian lays down a masterclass in modern progressive. Bringing things to an emphatic climax, Jaytech’s own “Atlantic” is the perfect embodiment of the musicality and class sewn into the mix.

To celebrate the upcoming release of ‘Anjunadeep 04′, James Grant and Jaytech have each mixed a 15 minute mini-mix of their respective CDs:
