TomorrowWorld Finds A New Home In Chattahoochee Hills, GA, USA

Tomorrowworld Finds A New Home In Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, USA

After much speculation, on February 18th, Tomorrowland announced plans for a second 2013 edition. The mysterious Tomorrowland bottle, fashioned from the purest crystal by the Belgian master craftsmen of Val Saint Lambert according to century-old traditions that date from 1826, filled with the magical concoction, began its long journey across the seas. Now, one month later, the bottle has finally reached its destination and this September a new chapter will be written in Tomorrowland history: TomorrowWorld, Chattahoochee Hills, USA.

Taking place on September 27th, 28th and 29th 2013, this breathtaking location, just 30 minutes from the Atlanta International Airport, will be transformed into the magical land of TomorrowWorld to entertain 150,000 revelers from around the world.

After an extensive trawl across the globe with well over 100 sites under evaluation, the Tomorrowland team settled on Chattahoochee Hills (aka Bouckaert Farm), with the site itself owned by fellow Belgian Carl Bouckaert – the perfect fit. The site includes the same natural amphitheater found in Belgium for the show-stopping main stage, as well as rolling hills, natural lakes and every amenity possible to allow the full Tomorrowland experience to take place successfully and to make its own mark as the second home.

As well as the festival itself, Global Journey and DreamVille will both be in full swing for the first edition, leaving no stone unturned in the mammoth plan to export what has become one of the world’s most popular events. Global Journey planes will be flying in from 35 cities including LA, New York, Tokyo, Rio De Janeiro and London to name a few; whilst DreamVille will provide a 5-day unforgettable camping experience.

DreamVille is the magical accommodation experience; a Village in itself. DreamVillers are invited one day earlier on the Thursday before the festival officially opens on Friday. Meanwhile, Global Journey packages are the easiest way to travel to TomorrowWorld. The Global Journey packages offer you the best service, covering your trip from the moment you take off, right through to your return trip home. Packages also include all local transportation to insure that all travelers have nothing to be concerned with and can enjoy TomorrowWorld to the maximum!

Pre-registration for TomorrowWorld is open now, with tickets going on sale in three stages, starting at the end of April. TomorrowWorld is a 21+ only event.

Sunburn Goa 2012: Official After Movie (India)

Sunburn Goa 2012: Official After Movie (India)

Goa. Just the name conjures up images of hazy sun-drenched days and balmy nights filled with the sounds of evocative dance music. For years, this beautiful piece of Indian paradise on the west coast of the subcontinent has been associated with the purest forms of electronica, providing a hedonistic get away for the world’s most discerning music lovers.

For the past six years, the Sunburn Festival has proved to be the jewel in Goa’s crown. Sandy white beaches, searing heat and gently swaying palm trees have provided an intoxicating and exotic backdrop as the planet’s most celebrated artists perform for tens of thousands of festival goers from all four corners of the earth, year in, year out.

In 2012, and after much persistent lobbying, event organizers Percept agreed to give Adhiraj Singh and Kaushik Sinha of RE-Fractor Studios exclusive access to the festival’s seven major stages to create their own fan-based after-movie.

“This was actually our first ever Sunburn,” said Adhiraj. “Over the years, we had heard a lot about the vibe of the festival and it was on our bucket list to go see what Sunburn stands for, ourselves. Sunburn has opened up so many avenues for both Indian and global artistes/music, the audience, the ‘behind the scenes’ work force etc, that it’s not just a music festival any more – it’s something which is part of people’s lives.”

What followed was a true love letter to this incredible three-day happening. ‘Sunburn Goa 2012: A-Z Highlights’ captures the very essence and sense of community seeping through the Sunburn experience. Set to the goosebump inducing Rameses B track ‘Pegasus’, immerse yourself in this stunning piece of film, a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of like minds, peaceful souls and heartfelt, shuddering beats.

A festival like no other: world-class music, togetherness, tranquility, explosive energy – Sunburn captures it all and bottles it into a spectacular event that should be on the bucket list of anyone who values their time well spent.

Beatport Sold! SFX Entertainment Buys Electronic Dance Music Site

First ID&T, now Beatport, Sillerman’s on a roll!

SFX Entertainment Buys Electronic Dance Music Site Beatport

SFX Entertainment, the company led by the media executive Robert F. X. Sillerman, has agreed to buy the music download site Beatport, part of the company’s plan to build a $1 billion empire centered on the electronic dance music craze.

Mr. Sillerman declined on Tuesday to reveal the price. But two people with direct knowledge of the transaction, who were not authorized to speak about it, said it was for a little more than $50 million.

Beatport, founded in Denver in 2004, has become the pre-eminent download store for electronic dance music, or E.D.M., with a catalog of more than one million tracks, many of them exclusive to the service. It says it has nearly 40 million users, and while the company does not disclose sales numbers, it is said to be profitable.

The site has also become an all-purpose online destination for dance music, with features like a news feed, remix contests and D.J. profiles. Those features, and its reach, could help in Mr. Sillerman’s plan to unite the disparate dance audience through media.

“Beatport gives us direct contact with the D.J.’s and lets us see what’s popular and what’s not,” Mr. Sillerman said in an interview. “Most important, it gives us a massive platform for everything related to E.D.M.”

Since the company was revived last year, SFX has focused mostly on live events, with the promoters Disco Donnie Presents and Life in Color; recently it also invested in a string of nightclubs in Miami and formed a joint venture with ID&T, the European company behind festivals like Sensation, to put on its events in North America.

In the 1990s, Mr. Sillerman spent $1.2 billion creating a nationwide network of concert promoters under the name SFX, which he sold to Clear Channel Entertainment in 2000 for $4.4 billion; those promoters are now the basis of Live Nation’s concert division.

Matthew Adell, Beatport’s chief executive, said that being part of SFX could help the company extend its business into live events, and also into countries where the dance genre is exploding, like India and Brazil.

“We already are by far the largest online destination of qualified fans and talent in the market,” Mr. Adell said, “and we can continue to grow that.”
