With his diverse four-track ‘The Bipolar EP‘  priming itself for release, Anjunabeats rising star Mat Zo is embarking on his biggest tour of North America yet – including dates at San Francisco’s Ruby Skye, Toronto’s Guvernment, Denver’s Beta and Chicago’s Sound Bar. The 10-date tour will come to an end at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Miami party on Bayfront Park, site of the Ultra Music Festival, on Thursday, March 22 alongside Above & Beyond, Arty, Boom Jinx and Jaytech [#GroupTherapyMiami].

With Skrillex, Axwell, Radio 1 and MTV Dance all supporting his recent anthem “Mozart” (with Arty), the fast rising Mat Zo returns with an eclectic four-track blast of his innovative talents – each track a distinct dancefloor juggernaut in its own right.

With recent eclectic sets at events like the Bugged Out! Weekender and his drum & bass material as MRZO and MRSA for Hospital Records supported by the likes of Camo & Crooked, Zo is fast asserting himself as unique electronic talent; something ‘The Bipolar EP’ reinforces further by blending influences as varied as Daft Punk, Diplo, Deadmau5 and even classic US house and twisting them into bold big room sounds.

Surging the raw funk of Daft Punk at their punkiest against the deeply musical strains that Zo is renowned for, the lead track “Bipolar” lives up to its name by flitting between clicky grooves, electro synth stabs and subtle melodic waves in devastating dancefloor fashion.

A homage to Mat’s love of classic dance across the 90s and early noughties, “It’s Yours” is as inventive take on Jon Cutler & E-Man’s funky house classic “It’s Yours”. Already a big room anthem from Mat’s recent sets at Bugged Out! Weekender and TATW400 in Beirut, “It’s Yours” builds waves of infectious melodic funk into a climatic drop.

A bridge between the carnival sounds of acts like Diplo and Major Lazer and the stadium filling trance world, “Ring On It” is an experimental bleep and bass-heavy explosion of carnival vibes – built around a subtle but undeniably epic riff.

Named after the world famous cellist, closing track “Yoyo Ma” is a driving melodic tech odyssey that draws influences from Eric Prydz’s most epic Pryda work, big room techno and the classier end of trance.

Celebrating the ‘The Bipolar EP,’ Mat has also released an hour long mix of progressive grooves, quirky mash-ups and the innovative tracks from EP itself.

Anjunadeep 04 Mixed by Jaytech & James Grant (Release Date: February 27)

With the past two editions both hitting #1 in the iTunes Dance Albums Chart, Anjunadeep 04 mixed by Jaytech and James Grant arrives with the label in better health than ever before – as evidenced by a recent DJ Mag nomination for ‘Best British Record Label’.

The last 12 months has seen the Above & Beyond imprint unveil one of house music’s hottest new talents in Dusky, whose album ‘Stick By This’ has been acclaimed by everyone from DJ Mag (“an intoxicating album full of life and flashes of brilliance ****”) to Pete Tong – with Tong naming it as one of his favourite albums of the year – while other Anjunadeep artists such as Matt Lange and Andrew Bayer on the label have blossomed, the former being described by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe as “the new Deadmau5″ and the latter’s ‘It’s Artificial’ LP winning plaudits from Lowe again and even day Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw.

Showcasing tracks and remixes from acts like Dusky, Tom Middleton, Maceo Plex, Vincenzo, Solarity and Andrew Bayer, ‘Anjunadeep04′ mixed by Jaytech & James Grant is the latest showcase of the label’s evolution; a 28 track journey through deep house, immersive melodic grooves and modern progressive.

Representing the deeper, more house-influenced end of Anjunadeep’s increasingly wide spectrum, label A&R James Grant effortlessly combines warm Maceo Plex’esque electronics, classic deep house vibes (Dusky “Lost Highway”), low-bass grooves (Tom Middleton’s Liquatech Mix of Paronator “No Gravity”) and the melodic house sound in which Anjunadeep has made its name.

Grant also contributes three remixes to the mix in collaboration with Andrew Bayer and acknowledges the key role played by Bayer in achieving the desired sound for CD1: “We had a clear vision for where we wanted the mix to head and Andrew really helped me realise that in this mix,” says Grant.

Taking time out from finishing his highly anticipated second artist album, AustralianAnjunadeep star Jaytech picks up the baton and pursues the more upbeat side of the label’s sound. From the future disco synths of Suspect 44’s “Neon Feel” to the melodic big room tech of Soundprank’s “Boundless Energy”, the Australian lays down a masterclass in modern progressive. Bringing things to an emphatic climax, Jaytech’s own “Atlantic” is the perfect embodiment of the musicality and class sewn into the mix.

To celebrate the upcoming release of ‘Anjunadeep 04′, James Grant and Jaytech have each mixed a 15 minute mini-mix of their respective CDs:

COMMUNITY: Above & Beyond Announce #GroupTherapyMiami with Arty, Mat Zo, Jaytech and Boom Jinx

Above & Beyond
Announce #GroupTherapyMiami
with Arty, Mat Zo, Jaytech and Boom Jinx

Miami Music Week 2012
Thursday, March 22nd
Bayfront Park Amphitheatre

Above & Beyond: Paavo Siljamäki, Tony McGuinness, and Jono Grant

Above & Beyond are bringing the Group Therapy experience to Miami Music Week 2012 with a special event at the legendary Bayfront Park Amphitheatre on Thursday March 22.

Joining Above & Beyond will be an all-star quartet of producers from their scene-leading Anjunabeats label - Mat Zo, Arty, Jaytech and Boom Jinx. Covering the full spectrum of the Anjunabeats sound, the event runs from 5pm to 11pm EST.

21 year old Arty should need no introduction having taken the trance and house worlds by storm in the past 18 months – melding them together in a way not seen before. 2011 saw him rise to #25 in the DJMag Top 100 poll, collaborate with Dirty South, perform NYE in New York City for a sold-out crowd of 10,000 revelers, plus gain support from the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, and of course, Avicii.

Next to take on Miami is Anjunabeats’ very own ‘”Superman” Mat Zo, also just 21 years of age.  He has consistently cemented a reputation as one of the label’s most prolific, innovative and forward-thinking artists – with recent hits including “Bipolar”, the Skrillex-supported “Mozart” (with Arty) and “Superman” itself. The only man to top the Beatport trance and drum & bass charts simultaneously, Zo is currently working on his hugely anticipated debut artist album, which is primed to showcase his maverick talents in full effect.

Having topped the iTunes Dance Album Chart for two years running with his Anjunadeep 02 & 03 compilations, rising Australian DJ Jaytech is again mixing Anjunadeep 04 this coming February and has a new artist album planned for the summer. Jaytech is a man on a mission and the perfect choice to warm up a buzzing #GroupTherapyMiami crowd.

Finally, also joining this colossal Group Therapy Miami line up is Norwegian uber-producer Boom Jinx, one of Anjunabeats’ most talented, prolific and eclectic artists, with recent work ranging from the massive vocal trance anthem “Phoenix From The Flames” to deep progressive gem “Pieces Of The Puzzle” with Soundprank.

Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy show is centered around their critically acclaimed second artist album (“the biggest artist album of the year” – Mixmag), which features Billboard Dance hits like “Sun & Moon” and “Thing Called Love” – as well as their forthcoming single “Love Is Not Enough”. The show’s production takes the DJ set up into the realm of concert theatre, with emotive visuals, live video messaging from the band and a story-telling theme, combining to create a unique dancefloor experience for fans.

Check out the teaser of the emotional, cinematic official music video for “Love Is Not Enough” here.

Above & Beyond and their Anjunabeats label have also been nominated for a host of awards in the IDMA Final Ballot – which will be announced during Miami music week. Above & Beyond have been nominated for Best European DJ and Best Artist (Group), with their huge “Sun & Moon” anthem in the Best Trance Track category and Anjunabeats in the Best Label category. Completing their nominations is Trance Around The World, which is in the running for the Best Radio Mix Show. You can vote here.

The #GroupTherapyMiami event forms part of the Ultra Live series. Tickets are on sale here.

Above & Beyond is currently on the road for Part 1 of their Group Therapy North American Tour. Group Therapy Part 2 coming May & June 2012 – Dates To Be Announced! Check www.aboveandbeyond.nu for updates.

MARQUEE MONDAYS

January 2nd, 2012

Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas celebrates its one-year anniversary with a special DJ set by GRAMMY Award nominee AVICII on Monday, January 2, 2012. After a thrilling inaugural year bringing in the world’s best talent to dominate the dancefloor, Marquee continues the tradition with its exclusive Marquee Mondays for nightlife professionals and only the most hardcore fans.

In just one year, Marquee has led the electronic music charge in Las Vegas placing it on the global clubber’s destination map by bringing in the world’s best DJs for residencies (Above & Beyond, ATB, Benny Benassi, Chuckie, Dirty South, Erick Morillo, Kaskade, Markus Schulz, & Redfoo), special holiday weekends (Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Fatboy Slim) and exclusive one-offs (Axwell, Avicii). Marquee makes you dance, one year at a time. Now get ready for an explosive year two with exciting new DJ residencies, along with some favorites returning in 2012.

Avicii, born Tim Bergling in Stockholm, was recently nominated for a Best Dance Recording GRAMMY for “Sunshine” (along with David Guetta) and landed at #6 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll. He also released a new video for his current single “Le7els,” which has already conquered club charts worldwide, climbing to No.1 on the international Beatport chart and garnering over 20 million YouTube hits within the last year. It wasn’t long ago that the success of prior singles “Seek Bromance,” “Street Dancer” and “Fade Into Darkness” propelled this 22-year-old electronic music producer into the ranks of superstar DJs performing for massive crowds. Avicii has headlined such colossal events as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Dance Valley, Street Parade, and IDentity festival, and performed on the mainstage at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival. Now he’s ready to dominate 2012, starting at Marquee Nightclub.
