In a world where it’s hard to differentiate oneself within the global DJ scene, ROGER SHAH has done just that. His performances never fail to amaze as he merges the art of DJ-ing together with live arrangement. With one hand he plays his wireless keyboard and with the other he mixes a selection of roof-raising releases. His natural ability to blend mesmerizing melodies, pulsating basslines and groove filled percussion into dancefloor anthems sees him tour the world like a true rockstar. Ultimately he is humbled by the support of his fans who have voted him in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll for five consecutive years and gave him a double EMPO nomination for ‘Best Trance & Progressive DJ‘ and ‘Best Radio Show‘.
Roger Shah: “it’s an amazing feeling and a driving force for me to know that there are so many fans out there supporting me as an artist, voting for me for the DJ mag poll but also writing to me how important some of my music became for them in their lives, helping them to go through hard periods and more. It’s very touching and this is why I’m doing what I’m doing.”
As a special gesture to his fans, Roger Shah invites everyone to participate on his new upcoming song called “Mueve Tu Mundo” (Change your world). The lyrics invite to sing along with Roger on the chorus. Fans can record their vocal part of the original chorus and send as mp3/wav/aiff files or videos. All of these vocals will be combined to create a huge choir with voices from all over the world. It doesn’t matter if one sings perfectly or not, as long as minimal effort is shown. On the production side Roger keeps very busy. His vocal masterpiece that he made in collaboration with JES and Brian Laruso was released on the legendary Magik Muzik label and remixed by Egyptian trance kings Aly & Fila, Dutch producer Jesse Voorn, Pedro Del Mar & DoubleV, and Roger Shah himself under his alias Sunlounger. The official music video features a sunny boat ride journey highlighting the beauty of Miami’s shores.
The Roger Shah and Aly & Fila collaboration ‘Perfect Love’ hit the Top 10 of the ASOT Tune Of The Year poll, while Roger’s cooler Sunlounger guise has released ‘Finca’ with rolling melodies, uplifting pads and hooky piano creating an altogether cooler progressive-house anthem in the making and massive support by the likes of Armin Van Buuren or Above & Beyond to name a few.
Only a few weeks ago Roger rocked the Ultra Music Festival in South Korea. Ultra which has its home base in Miami is taking its festival world wide with other dates including South America and Europe. Ultra Korea was organized at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium Complex. Other artists on the line up included Tommy Trash, Krewella, Fedde Le Grand, Afrojack, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, Kaskade and Pedro Del Mar.
Forthcoming gigs include Future Sound Of Egypt 300 in both Amsterdam and Mexico City, The Mellomania Summer Cruise in Germany and the Summerdream Festival in Switzerland. Moreover Roger Shah will make his debut for Insomniac Events, the promoter known for the massive Electric Daisy Carnival festivals.
Roger has been working for a long time on the new SUNLOUNGER album which is due for release August 19th on Magic Island Records in cooperation with Black Hole Recordings. With the Sunlounger project he had chart entries on almost every continent. Pre-order the album here: http://bit.ly/17ZC7eF

Roger Shah: “I haven’t done too many shows this year because I wanted to have the time to deliver another outstanding Sunlounger album to keep my real Balearic fans happy. I hope that the trance family will appreciate my effort and show me some love and support me another year in this annual and important poll. It’s still like a dream for me that I was able to establish myself in this tough industry and to have a spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 for 5 consecutive years with a peak at #21.”
