Hour 1: Arthur Galestian ‘Deeper’ Summer Mix With my June trip to the beaches of paradise in Thailand, this month we bring you a collection of deeper summertime tunes bordering on the edges of deep and progressive house. Put on your beach party gear and let’s start celebrating the summer with tunes by 16-Bit Lolitas, Adrian Lux, Jody Wisternoff, Jeremy Oldander & Fehrplay, London Grammar and more.
Hour 2: Randy Seidman Guest Mix Randy Seidman is one of the hardest working electronic music artists in Los Angeles. He has shared the stage with such well-known DJs as Kaskade, Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Benny Benassi, M.A.N.D.Y, and many others. Randy has had the honor of playing some of the world’s best clubs and festivals including: Privilege (Ibiza), Kapital Festival (Ecuador), Caffeine Festival & Beta Nightclub (Denver), Guvernment (Toronto), Insomniac’s Nocturnal Festival (Austin), and three times at the Miami Winter Music Conference for Ultra Music Festival. All of this while holding a monthly residency at one of the world’s top nightclubs, Avalon in Hollywood!
In a world where it’s hard to differentiate oneself within the global DJ scene, ROGER SHAH has done just that. His performances never fail to amaze as he merges the art of DJ-ing together with live arrangement. With one hand he plays his wireless keyboard and with the other he mixes a selection of roof-raising releases. His natural ability to blend mesmerizing melodies, pulsating basslines and groove filled percussion into dancefloor anthems sees him tour the world like a true rockstar. Ultimately he is humbled by the support of his fans who have voted him in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll for five consecutive years and gave him a double EMPO nomination for ‘Best Trance & Progressive DJ‘ and ‘Best Radio Show‘.
Roger Shah: “it’s an amazing feeling and a driving force for me to know that there are so many fans out there supporting me as an artist, voting for me for the DJ mag poll but also writing to me how important some of my music became for them in their lives, helping them to go through hard periods and more. It’s very touching and this is why I’m doing what I’m doing.”
As a special gesture to his fans, Roger Shah invites everyone to participate on his new upcoming song called “Mueve Tu Mundo” (Change your world). The lyrics invite to sing along with Roger on the chorus. Fans can record their vocal part of the original chorus and send as mp3/wav/aiff files or videos. All of these vocals will be combined to create a huge choir with voices from all over the world. It doesn’t matter if one sings perfectly or not, as long as minimal effort is shown. For more information and to stay up-to-date, be sure to like Roger Shah’s Facebook page: facebook.com/rogershahartist.
On the production side Roger keeps very busy. His vocal masterpiece that he made in collaboration with JES and Brian Laruso was released on the legendary Magik Muzik label and remixed by Egyptian trance kings Aly & Fila, Dutch producer Jesse Voorn, Pedro Del Mar& DoubleV, and Roger Shah himself under his alias Sunlounger. The official music video features a sunny boat ride journey highlighting the beauty of Miami’s shores.
The Roger Shah and Aly & Fila collaboration ‘Perfect Love’ hit the Top 10 of the ASOT Tune Of The Year poll, while Roger’s cooler Sunlounger guise has released ‘Finca’ with rolling melodies, uplifting pads and hooky piano creating an altogether cooler progressive-house anthem in the making and massive support by the likes of Armin Van Buuren or Above & Beyond to name a few.
Only a few weeks ago Roger rocked the Ultra Music Festival in South Korea. Ultra which has its home base in Miami is taking its festival world wide with other dates including South America and Europe. Ultra Korea was organized at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium Complex. Other artists on the line up included Tommy Trash, Krewella, Fedde Le Grand, Afrojack, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, Kaskade and Pedro Del Mar.
Forthcoming gigs include Future Sound Of Egypt 300 in both Amsterdam and Mexico City, The Mellomania Summer Cruise in Germany and the Summerdream Festival in Switzerland. Moreover Roger Shah will make his debut for Insomniac Events, the promoter known for the massive Electric Daisy Carnival festivals.
Roger has been working for a long time on the new SUNLOUNGER album which is due for release August 19th on Magic Island Records in cooperation with Black Hole Recordings. With the Sunlounger project he had chart entries on almost every continent. Pre-order the album here: http://bit.ly/17ZC7eF
Roger Shah: “I haven’t done too many shows this year because I wanted to have the time to deliver another outstanding Sunlounger album to keep my real Balearic fans happy. I hope that the trance family will appreciate my effort and show me some love and support me another year in this annual and important poll. It’s still like a dream for me that I was able to establish myself in this tough industry and to have a spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 for 5 consecutive years with a peak at #21.”
AFTER 2 WEEKENDS, 330,000 ATTENDEES ANDOVER 10 MILLION UNIQUE LIVE STREAM VIEWERS, ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL OFFICIALLY CELEBRATES ITS BIGGEST, MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR YET!
“Looking back over the three days of dance music theatrics, it’s fair to say Ultra does nothing by halves…This year’s festival brought in crowds of over 150,000 ragers on both weekends, and there was no shortage of definitive moments…after Sunday’s Swedish send-off, the question is, how to top it in 2014?” –InTheMix
ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL officially concluded this past weekend as its most successful, elaborate and record-breaking year yet! After more than 330,000 electronic and live music enthusiasts descended upon downtown Miami’s transformed Bayfront Park to attend the colossal annual event – which took place over two weekends for the first time in its 15 year history – ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL looks back fondly at some of the highlights, records and memorable moments that made this year so very special.
For the first time ever, all SIX DAYS of the world’s premiere electronic event were streamed live over the internet via Ultra’s official YouTube channel UMF TV, in a broadcast which saw over 200 of the world’s leading DJs and electronic musicians watched by an audience of over 10 MILLION unique viewers from all corners of the globe – officially making it the most viewed festival event in North America to date!
Arguably the most notable climax of the festival was the last ever show from world-dominating Scandinavian trio, Swedish House Mafia. This scintillating final performance, full to the brim with mind-frazzling lights and pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art dynamic visuals, a back catalogue of their greatest hits new and old – and a hefty pinch of nostalgia thrown in for good measure of course – was in turn watched online by over 200,000 concurrent fans worldwide. This figure has now been officially declared by YouTube as the highest concurrent number of views for any US non-sponsored music stream!
Another incredible new addition, which must not go without special mention, was the sheer enormity of this year’s LIVE STAGE and its talent. Set within the formidable amphitheater, and with live performances from the likes of Dog Blood, Azealia Banks, Snoop Dogg, Disclosure, Krewella, The Weeknd, Pretty Lights, Faithless, Booka Shade, Hot Chip, Crystal Castles, and many more, this newly concieved stage area heavily contributed to what was, by far, the most diverse and star-studded billing of talent in the festival’s 15 year history.
Although the lengthy plethora of highlights is far too immense to mention in full, other memorable moments included deadmau5’s return to Ultra with his stunning ‘Cube’ live show; Avicii’s second weekend performance on the eye-watering main-stage, in which he debuted brand new material from his upcoming album (with a slew of live appearances from legends such as Aloe Blacc, Mac Davis, Audra Mae and Dan Tyminski, and three members from the iconic Incubus – Mike Einziger, Jose Pasillas and Ben Kenney); and the surprise appearance of Grammy-winning guitarist Slash, who joined Dirty Dutch front-runner Chuckie during his main stage set for a live performance of their collaboration “Rocktronica.”
Following what has been by far the most extraordinary festival in the event’s mammoth 15 year history, ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL has also announced that they will return next year from March 28th-30th, 2014.
Looking forward, the next installment from Ultra Worldwide comes in the form of ULTRA IBIZA in May 2013. The exact details have yet to be announced, but you can stay tuned to the official Facebook page for up-to-minute information on dates, lineups and ticketing!

The second phase of talent confirmed to play across the 2013 ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL – taking place March 15-17 and 22-24 during Miami Music Week – has been unveiled, revealing what is undoubtedly the most diverse, forward thinking line-up ever billed in the event’s 15 year history.
“In celebration of Ultra Music Festival’s double weekend and 15 year anniversary, what we’ve achieved with this edition’s ocean of talent and stage production is, we feel, unprecedented. As the industry we work in continues to explode, with so much talent emerging and the taste of our consumer changing in the process, diversity was key,” says Russell Faibisch, Ultra Music Festival Founder, Executive Producer, CEO & President.
“We’ve never put so much time and effort into programming an event as we have for this year’s Ultra Music Festival. We truly hope everybody attending this year will value and more importantly enjoy the unique experience we’ve worked so hard to create,” says Adam Russakoff Ultra Music Festival Executive Producer, Director of Business Affairs & Talent Buyer.
